Family Gathering/Catechesis
On the weekend on November 4-5, about 450 of Corpus Christi parishioners, young and old accepted the invitation to come to our Fall Family Gathering (Catechesis) entitled, Come to the Feast. Together we came to a better appreciation and understanding of that heavenly banquet to which we are invited every Sunday as a parish community. We also came to a better understanding and appreciation of our new Roman Missal which we will be using starting on November 27, the first Sunday of Advent. Each family was given a folder with materials to help them prepare and review the Mass and the new wording. Mr. Anthony Austin helped us prepare for the music with new words. Through dance, song, presentation, mime and other activities parents and children deepened their appreciation and love for our church. Our children even prepared a special banner inviting all of us to join together and Come to the Feast. Together with Fr. Tom’s wonderful presentations of the New Missal, we as a parish will be joyfully ready to receive, pray and worship with the New Roman Missal. Grateful thanks most of all to Sr. Margaret Rose for all her hard work and dedication to this event, Fr. Tom for his support and encouragement, the team members who made this event possible, CCHRS, Religious Education teachers and parents, Salesian Cooperators, Holy Name Society, Our Lady Help of Christians Sodality members, all too many to name, all working together to make these gatherings true encounters of our faith community at its best. Thanks to all who attended and participated. Thank you also for your gifts to the poor. Last but not least, thanks be to God for all His gifts, especially the Mass and gift of our One, Holy, Catholic Church. Yes, Corpus Christi Parish is ready and eager to embrace the new changes with love and gratitude, ready to pray and sing the Mass better than ever before as we grow in our life of faith and our relationship with our God. God bless us all.
