Salesian Sisters Centennial
Celebration
1930’s – The 1930’s found the Salesian
Sisters in a period of growth in many ways. Their spirit of
joy was contagious, attracting young women to the community
and young people to the mission. The call of young people
in faraway Florida resonated in the hearts of the Sisters
who left the Northeast to share the Salesian charism in the
Sunshine State. Whether north or south, their lives echoed
that of Mary Mazzarello who said, “Be always cheerful.
Happiness is a sign of a heart that loves the Lord!”
Parish Council Nominations
The Parish Council Elections are scheduled to take place
on May 17th and May 18th after all the Masses in the school
lobby. At this time there are six candidates who will be running
for three available seats. A brief profile of each candidate
will be enclosed in next week’s bulletin.

Development Fund Update
The second collection each month is for our church development.
Periodically the pastor reports as to which projects these
funds are designated. Recently we have done remodeling in
the Youth Center game room, formerly the lower church. The
old sanctuary became a storage room, with the temporary wall-enclosure
hiding a lot of “junk”. The remodeling included
tearing down the temporary wall, boxing up the old marble
altar, tearing up the old floor tile and replacing it with
new tile, and painting the old sanctuary area. Now we have
an area for the youth to gather for the Salesian “Good
Night”, as well as a place for other groups of 30 or
40 people to meet. The cost of this renovation was about $20,500.00.
Thank you for your contributions to this project.
Mother’s Day
Next Sunday, May 11th is Mother’s Day. We ask God to
